Summary:

Wanting recipes that warm you up, fill you up and fit a student budget? Stay cozy this winter with Chloe’s favourite recipes for cooler weather.

Written by Chloe Debono

The cooler weather has approached, meaning cozy nights with warm dinners. Sometimes the cooler weather has us lacking motivation on what to cook for dinner, but here are some winter warmer recipes that will leave you feeling full, cozy, and won’t break the bank. My favourite websites to find recipes that are relatively simple include Taste, RecipeTinEats, or even looking up videos on tiktok or Instagram.

Sweet Potato Mince Bowls

This has been one of my repeats lately – it is so simple and so delicious.

  1. Slice sweet potato in half and bake until cooked
  2. Cook mince with taco seasoning, salt, pepper
  3. Top sweet potato with mince, cottage or grated cheese, salsa, and honey
Pie

Pie is perfect to last you a couple of meals, and can be a hearty, filling and warm meal. They are super simple to make, you make the filling and top with pastry. Some of my favourite go to pies include:

Soup

Perfect for a cold day to warm and fill you up.

Zucchini Slice and Quiche

A super easy mix, dump and bake meal that can go a long way

Pasta Dishes

Once again, simple, warm, filling and will go a long way!

Rice Dishes

Perfect to utilise packet rice if you don’t have the time to cook rice – a rice cooker also comes in really helpful and can be quite affordable

Hopefully these recipes inspire you to cook some warm and fulfilling meals this winter that are simple and cost effective.
