Fill Your Cup in 2025

Summary:

Sometimes it can be hard to look after yourself and your mental health while studying. But you’re not alone! The Student Wellbeing Framework launching in 2025 is a toolkit to help you thrive and Stacey fills you in on how it can help support you.

We’ve all been there: balancing assignments, exams, a job, family, and somehow squeezing in a social life—university life can feel like a real juggling act! It’s no surprise that our mental health sometimes takes a backseat. But what if we could flip the script and make well-being a priority? That’s the goal of the new Student Wellbeing Framework launching in 2025, and I’m here to share what’s coming in the Mental Health and Wellbeing section.

My own university experience has taught me the importance of balancing commitments, after spreading myself too thin I had to make my well-being a priority. So, when I had the chance to help shape this framework, I jumped at it because I know how much of a difference having the right mental health support can make. This framework isn’t just another university policy—it’s a way to make sure we’re all looking after ourselves, not just as students, but as people.

What’s in the Works?

This framework is like a toolkit to help us thrive, with initiatives to support student mental health through policies, inclusive spaces, learning opportunities, and easier access to help. It’s designed with student voices at its heart, whether you’re looking to learn mental health skills, connect with others, or learn how to ease that exam anxiety.

How Does This Help You?
You know the saying, “You can’t pour from an empty cup”? Well, this framework is all about helping YOU fill your cup—whether that means going for a walk, turning off your phone for a bit, taking a moment to breathe, or even diving into a book you’ve been meaning to read. It’s about creating space in our lives to recharge. And here’s the cool part—it’s not just about what’s available on campus. The framework is designed with both online and on-campus students in mind, so no one’s left out.

Why Get Involved?
I’ve been lucky enough to be involved in some of the early conversations and it’s refreshing to see how seriously our feedback is being taken. Whether you’re a campus student, an online learner, fresh out of high school, or a mature-aged student, your voice matters. By getting involved in the well-being activities, you’re not only filling your cup—you’re helping shape how our university supports students in the future.

Stay Tuned for More!
There’s more to come as we get closer to 2025, so watch this space. Until then, remember—your mental health matters – you can’t pour from an empty cup, so let’s make sure we’re all staying topped up!
