The end of the year can feel very overwhelming, with classes ending, assessments due, exams fast approaching, and events to attend. It is important to remember that you are not alone, and Charles Sturt is here to support you through it all!

Charles Sturt University provides guidance and support to students facing a unique set of expectations and experiences, including stress and staying healthy, anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicide, grief and loss, eating and body image disorders, domestic violence, natural disasters, and more!
Sometimes you might know exactly what is troubling you. Other times, you might just feel like everything is piling up, and you don’t really know where to start! I found that taking the first step is the hardest part, but reaching out to the counselling service at Charles Sturt is a positive step towards moving forward. Speak freely to a qualified counsellor. Your conversations with the counsellor are confidential, and you can talk about anything you need support with. Did I mention it’s free?

Need immediate support? Contact the 24/7 Student Wellbeing Support line.
Sometimes you don’t need support at 9am on a Tuesday; maybe it’s 11pm the night before an assignment is due. Maybe you’re feeling homesick on a Sunday night. Maybe something has happened suddenly, and you just need someone to talk to… now.
You can call 1300 572 516 or text 0480 087 002 to speak with a support worker at any time, including weekends and public holidays.

Other support services are available through the Charles Sturt University Student Portal. Additional services include support for First Nations and international students, the LGBTIQA+ Ally Network, academic skills support, advocacy, and more.
As we head towards the end of the year, remember that your wellbeing is just as important as your studies. University can be challenging, and it’s okay to ask for help when things feel overwhelming.

Whether you need someone to talk to, academic support, or guidance through a difficult time, Charles Sturt has a range of resources available to help you feel supported. You don’t have to navigate everything on your own, and taking that first step can make all the difference. Be kind to yourself, check in on your friends, and remember that you don’t have to wait until things feel overwhelming to reach out for support!
