After completing 14 weeks of placement in the hustle and bustle of Sydney, I knew I needed a relaxing break set in the complete opposite setting. Enter Mount Tamborine, a beautiful destination set in the scenic rim of South-Eastern Queensland.

Mount Tamborine is the perfect place for the ultimate relaxation, as you’re surrounded by nature, from the birds chirping to epic sunsets, the experience is immersive. The township itself is beautiful with some of the most amazing people and restaurants, fresh produce roadside stalls and boutique stores.

So come with me as I tell you what I go up to!

Day one

We travelled five hours from Port Macquarie to the mountain and checked into our Airbnb nestles amongst the trees with stunning views down the mountain.

We finished the day off with a round of tennis at the Tamborine Mountain Tennis Club before having dinner with a picturesque rainy mountain view.

Day two

Every second Sunday the mountain holds markets, where we were lucky enough to be in the mountain when they were on. We walked around looking at many homemade gifts, jewellery, clothes and had some of the best coffee of our lives.

After the markets, we decided to do the Gallery Walk, where over 70 diverse stores are along one street. Notably my favourite store was Mountain Candle Co with some of the most divine candle fragrances I have ever smelt!

Day three

We decided to do a hike today choosing the Witches Falls track. We completed the hike to see a magnificent view of the mountain landscape and to the side we could see part of a waterfall. During this hike it began bucketing down rain and we still had 30 minutes’ worth of hiking to get back to the car and we got DRENCHED! So, we decided to go and get ourselves a matcha form Muddy Matcha.

The rain started to clear after lunch, so we walked around the botanical gardens before watching a beautiful sunset.

Day four

We decided to do another hike today with a more prominent waterfall. Cedar Creek Falls has a waterfall and swimming holes, so we took advantage of the good weather this day to soak up some sun and explore the rock pools in Cedar Creek.

We finished the day driving to Coomera to have dinner with some friends we hadn’t seen in a while. It was a lovely night with good food, food and company.

Day five

On our last day we hiked to Curtis Falls, which, in my opinion is the nicest waterfall on the mountain. We say many animals including pademelon’s, bush turkey’s and lizards.

We then had lunch in Eagle Heights pub with the Broadbeach skyline in the distance which was stunning.

We relaxed for the rest of the day soaking up what little time we had left.

This holiday was one of the best I have had in a long time. Mount Tamborine is such a relaxing place with the most beautiful views that it is hard to not relax. If you’re looking for your next holiday, I highly recommend Mount Tamborine.
