Find a bargain at your local Op Shops during National Op Shop Week

National Op Shop week is upon us, so why not head down to your local Op Shop to check out what bargains you can find?

Spanning from September 28 to October 4, National Op Shop Week isn’t just about buying things. While you can find some amazing stuff, you can also donate high quality goods and volunteer in a shop, which they would love given the affect that COVID-19 has had on volunteers.

Op Shops are all about lending a hand and making a difference.

Why you should support your local Op Shops

There are many reasons you should support your local Op Shops, but the biggest reason is simply that they provide support and funds for incredible causes and issues.

This includes many frontline community services such as:

  • Women and children’s refuges
  • Homelessness services
  • Migrant and refugee assistance
  • Food vans and food vouchers
  • Drug and alcohol counselling
  • Disaster relief

The money that Op Shops make is crucial for the causes they support. Without these shops, many key support services would struggle to do the amazing work they do.

What can I find in an Op Shop?

There are so many amazing finds in Op Shops around the country. Whether you need some great clothes for the weekend or a suit for a job interview – don’t pay hundreds of dollars! Go down to your Op Shop, get decked out for a fraction of the price and support your community at the same time.

You can also find good books, magazines, kitchenware, sporting goods and some great collectables if you are a collector like I am. There is almost anything you can imagine, so go check it out.

For more information, check out the National Op Shop Week website.

Now go grab yourself a bargain this week and beyond.
