Do you also struggle to manage studying in English? Trust me, I’ve been through the same drama. When I was new here, I used to literally cry in front of my laptop.
Studying in English was really overwhelming for me as it is not my first language. One day, I decided that I didn’t come here to cry, so I started researching ways to make myself better at studying in English. So let me share my little secrets with you.

Firstly, you need to organise your study time, which helps you to stay on track with your studies without feeling too stressed. Do not make any timetables that are complicated. You can make a timetable that aligns with your daily life and study goals and is easy to follow.
Make sure you take notes and ask your teachers or professors if you don’t understand something. I know it is awkward and nerve-wracking to ask, but you know what? They are there to help us and bring out the best in us.
You should also practice writing in English as it helps with your assessments to get good marks.
Another important thing is to sit in a quiet place where you can concentrate and focus on your work. I hate to admit it, but I put my phone away when I’m studying because I get distracted very easily.
Also, the Charles Sturt Library is a game changer for me as it helps us to build new ideas and supports us in our studies.

Finally, make sure you take your breaks as they help your mind and nervous system calm down, which then helps with better concentration. Go out for a walk, drink some water or maybe go shopping, haha!

Studying in English can be difficult, but with consistency and a positive mindset, it becomes easier.
