Hi, I’m Chloe a 4th year OT Student, studying at the Port Macquarie campus.
One thing that has stood out for me throughout my university experience is the social sport program that the university offers. This is offered across multiple campuses and is a great way to make the most out of your university experience.

Let’s dive into the social sport experience.
Each campus that offers social sport has social sport coordinators to organise and promote social sport throughout the uni year. If you have any questions regarding social sport, they are always happy to help! – Just shoot them a message!
So what does social sport entail?
- Social sport occurs weekly throughout the university sessions (excluding the university breaks).
- The same sport will be played throughout one semester and should change throughout the second semester (sometimes 2 sports are alternated throughout one semester).
- You will be in the same team, each week you will get the opportunity to verse a different team.
- Games usually occur between 5-8pm

What sports will I get to play?
There are various sports that have been offered throughout my 3 years of participating in social sport, and they include:
- Oz tag
- Netball
- Volleyball
- Futsal
Benefits to joining a social sport team
- A great way to meet new people especially if you are new to university
- Strengthening friendships
- A form of exercise
- A break from your studies, offering a great outlet
- Offers fun with team costumes

Don’t have a team and want to join? Send the social sport coordinators an email and they will slot you into a team that has spots available!
I would definitely recommend joining uni social sport for a great addition to your university experience.
