The past few years have been an absolute blast! I’ve made so many incredible, life-long friendships throughout this journey, and honestly, going to class has been just as much about the laughs and connection as it has been about the learning. I get genuinely excited to see my friends every day, and it’s wild to think we’re all about to take the next big step into the world of paramedicine.

One of the things I love most about this career is its global reach. Paramedics are needed everywhere; the possibilities are endless. That’s what makes this path so exciting (and let’s be real, a little daunting!). I’m especially hopeful for the chance to take on an international internship, fingers crossed!

It’s a surreal feeling knowing that this time next year, we’ll all be working as graduates, possibly scattered across the state, the country or even the world! I’ll definitely miss walking into class and seeing familiar faces every day. But I’m also so thankful for the connections and memories I’ve found here. These friendships and shared experiences have shaped who I am as both a person and a future paramedic.

I’m incredibly proud to be the President of the Charles Sturt Paramedic Student Association (CSUSPA) at the Port Macquarie Campus. One of the best parts of our club is the balance we strike between connection, support, and hands-on experience. Whether it’s a laser tag & rock-climbing night, returners’ river cruise or our iconic annual ball, these social events are the perfect way to unwind, connect with students across all years and just have some fun outside of study.

But we’re not just about the fun; we also dive into exciting real-world training opportunities. One of our standout experiences was a multi-agency shark attack simulation, run alongside North Camden Life Saving Club and Fire & Rescue NSW. It was an incredible learning experience, and I’m thrilled to say another big simulation is in the works next session with the Port Macquarie SES! …So, keep your eyes peeled!

We all know that uni life, especially in a high-pressure course like paramedicine, can be intense. That’s why I’m so passionate about creating space for our cohort to relax and support one another. Whether you’re looking to build friendships, debrief after a tough week or just feel part of something bigger, CSUSPA is here for it. At the heart of it all, our club builds community, and that’s what makes it so special.
