Over the last two years, the Communication precinct on the Bathurst Campus has received a new look.
During this time, there have been many additions to the Precinct, including several new rooms that are fully furnished with equipment to help Bachelor of Communication students create content for various things associated with their course, but also their professional development.
On Friday October 4th, the precinct was officially opened!
The precinct was created not only to help current students in the Communication course but also to bring more students to the course.
Some of the new rooms include; video editing suites, audio editing suites, a boardroom, two new classroom spaces, podcast rooms, and another studio for the campus-located community radio station 2MCE.
These rooms have all of the latest gear for video and audio content, fully furnished with microphones, lighting, speakers, cameras and so many more exciting hardware options.
There is a chill-out area that is designed to be a space for casual conversation between students and as an area to take a break from study.
There is also a kitchenette with a kettle, mugs, and tea bags for those who love a cup of tea while studying.
The precinct is fully accessible to all communication students, just with the swipe of your student card.
The precinct is also available 24/7, similar to the library and Engineering precinct so that Communication students can work on whatever they want for as long as they need!
There is also a new boardroom set up with a Zoom smartboard. Students can use this boardroom to practice presenting briefs to real-world clients and for other professional development.
This new precinct is an exciting thing for all Communication students and faculty. It showcases the amazing hands-on experiences our students can receive.
