A typical Wednesday
As a first-year student living on campus, it took a while for me to find a routine that worked well. Now that I have a job as well as studies, my schedule is a little hectic some days, but it is manageable by ensuring I have time to relax and socialise
5:30am – 6:30am: Sunrise walk/swim
I am definitely more of a morning person than a night owl, so I enjoy waking up at 5:00 am so that I can catch the sunrise.
I’ve been loving Town Beach in the morning because I walk along the break wall boardwalk and get a coffee. However, some mornings I am too lazy and just decide to go for a swim. Shelly Beach is perfect for swimming in the morning, the sunrise is beautiful, and a few other people are swimming too.

6:30am – 7am: Breakfast
After heading back to my dorm, I have a shower and some breakfast before work. My roommates are usually around the kitchen at this time so I find myself chatting to them for a while before getting ready for work.

7:30am – 10:30am: Work
I’m working at the cafe in Port Macquarie Airport at the moment. It’s quite different from your regular cafe job. Every morning, you have to go through airport security! I really enjoy making coffee, so I am glad I found a job that allows me to do that all day! (The best part about it, though, is that I get unlimited free coffee while on shift!!)

11am – 1pm: Class 1
On Wednesdays, I have my OCC104 class at 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. This class is really enjoyable as it is my only class in the first semester that is specifically for OT’s. Today, we were focusing on social interaction and filling out the social interaction skills segment of an occupational analysis form for our assessment. We spent half an hour walking over to the Coles complex to get a coffee or some food to take note of all the social interactions we made with people and what skills were required.

1pm – 2pm: Lunch
The girls and I headed back to the dorms after class to make some lunch and prepare for our next class at 2:30 pm.
2:30pm – 4pm: Class 2
BMS181 is from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm on Wednesday afternoons. This is our tutorial for this subject, so it usually consists of some practical activities in the lab. Today was a relaxed class where Belle and I mainly labelled the parts of the brain and the body cavities.

4 pm – 6 pm: Study in the library
I head over to the library and try to work for two productive hours before relaxing for the night.
6:30pm – 8:30pm: Social Netball
There is a netball tournament every Wednesday night for social sport for the students living on campus. We walk down to the school gym down the road. Social sport is something I look forward to all week. It is so fun and inclusive that it’s a great break from studies.

8:30pm: Dinner
Depending on what time my netball game is, I will either have dinner before or after it. After netball/dinner, I shower before chilling in the common room where my roommates and I watch a few episodes of New Girl – our newest obsession! I head to bed between 9/9:30 pm so that I can have a productive morning!
