Hi, I’m Archie, and I’m going into my third year of Physiotherapy on the Albury-Wodonga campus. Last year, I had the privilege of representing Charles Sturt University on the Gold Coast at Uni Nationals, participating in mixed netball. This was my second year at Uni Nationals, and it was absolutely incredible.

I’ve enjoyed both years of Nationals, but it’s hard to beat last year. Soaking up the sun in our free time on the Gold Coast beaches, playing sport with a new group of people who became lifelong friends, and then enjoying the beautiful nightlife that the Gold Coast has to offer.

I couldn’t speak more highly of the friendships, bonds, and memories you make at Uni Nationals, where people from each campus come together to have fun and compete against other universities for the last laugh. In my first year at Nationals, we were lucky enough to come away with the bronze medal in Division 2, which was a great reward for the effort the group put in throughout the week.

Last year, we were unfortunately placed in a tough pool, which ruled us out of medal contention very early in the competition. However, the group still came together to enjoy the week and managed to string together a few wins towards the end of the tournament, finishing with a positive win–loss record.

However, I believe that as much as the week is about competition, it is more importantly about the connections you make with your team and other teams that make the week so enjoyable. I highly recommend signing up for Uni Nationals and attending all trials to give yourself the best chance of being selected.
I hope to see a lot of new faces in Perth in 2026, and I look forward to hopefully bringing home a couple more medals for Charles Sturt University to add to the trophy cabinet.
