I’m one of those weird people who likes waking up at 4 am. It’s quiet.
First thing, coffee on, music on! Something soft. I sit with it for a minute and breathe.
Brekky depends. Cornflakes if I’m lazy. Eggs, if I’m pretending to have it together.
Still in my oodie (obviously), I settle into study. One of my massive assessments. But today I was actually switched on. I smashed through a solid chunk. It felt good to be ahead, even just a little.
I study at home. It’s easier to focus when everything’s set up how I like it. When I’m warm and settled, I can lock in. The work feels less overwhelming when I start early. And today, I had momentum.
Later, we had Rural Fire Service (RFS) training with the Lake George Young Members group. We ran some exercises with the Bungendore pumper and did some drafting. It was a good session, hands-on, practical, and just nice to be around the team getting stuff done. I love this stuff. Being around like-minded people, learning by doing, and building up our skills together, it never gets old.

Somewhere in between, I squeezed in a recreational swim. Just enough to reset. Swimming clears my head. The river was freezing, but worth it.

The sunset tonight was unreal. One of those pink and orange skies that makes you stop for a second. It made me think about the people I love and just how lucky I am to be here, doing the things I’m doing. It’s easy to get caught up in all the “go go go”, but that moment reminded me how important it is to stop and check in with yourself. Like… how am I really doing? I’m slaying life, and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Finished the day with some personal admin (yay adulting), a simple steak for dinner, and about 30 minutes of guilt-free screen time. Nothing crazy, but it felt earned. Then it was off to bed early because tomorrow? We go again.
Not Every Day Looks Like This
Some days I’m horizontal watching Netflix and ignoring life.
Some days are chaos, caffeine, and catching up.
But this one? This one was a good one.
