Why you should write for Charlie

Summary:

We’re looking for new contributors!

Do you have a way of organising your uni work that you think would help other students? Are you a distance student who studies from a unique location? Do you have a wonderful story about where you have come from and where you want to go? Whatever it is, we at Charlie want to hear from you.

If you enjoy writing and sharing stories with your fellow students, then why not consider becoming a Charlie Contributor?

What will you get out of becoming a Contributor?

  • You will learn lots of skills being a Charlie Contributor. Not only will your writing skills improve, but so will your communication skills. And if you are a Communications student, what better way to practice your chosen career path than by actually writing for a publication!
  • You’ll be part of an enthusiastic team and you will gain a whole list of contacts to add to your network.
  • You are encouraged to pitch new ideas, and you can build up your portfolio with content. Going to an employer with a portfolio full of work is a big tick in their books.
  • And last but definitely not least, you’ll get paid $50 for each article that gets published on the Charlie website. That’s a pretty good reward for your hard earned work.

How to get involved

There are two ways to send an expression of interest to us at Charlie. You can email us directly at charlie@csu.edu.au and tell us who you are, what you are interested in, why you are interested in becoming a Charlie Contributor and what you would like to write about.

Or you can go to the Charlie website, click on the Contribute button on the top right-hand corner and fill out the form.

We look forward to hearing from you!
