Picture yourself wearing your CSU colours with pride as part of #TeamCSU for the Eastern University Games!

In 2017 we’re upping the ante and taking our best teams to the Eastern Uni Games. This is part of a new nation-wide push to raise the standard of competition at all Uni Games events.

Nominations are open now for a huge range of individual and team sports, and selection trials will be held over the next two weeks. If you want to play in a team sport and live close to Bathurst or Wagga, you’ll need to trial for your sport. If you’re studying online or aren’t able to make the trials, you can tell us about your sporting experience to help us with team selections. If we have lots of interest in a particular sport, the teams will be graded.

So, why get involved?

Show your competitive streak

Eastern Uni Games are both friendly and competitive where you can pit your skills against students from other NSW and ACT universities. In a number of sports, if your team finishes first or second, you could qualify to play at the Australian University Games on the Gold Coast in September.

Meet new people

You could be playing in a team with students from all over Australia, including online students and people from other campuses and courses. These people could turn out to be your friends for life, but your paths may never cross if you don’t get involved.

Combine your passions

If you love sport and are proud to wear the CSU red, then Uni Games are a great chance for you to bring the two together.

Develop new skills

Playing sport gives you the chance to demonstrate commitment, leadership and teamwork – all skills employers love! So while Uni Games might seem like it’s just about sport and fun, it will also look great on your CV.

Try something new

With Uni Games sports ranging from netball and touch football through to ultimate frisbee and badminton, there’s sure to be something that excites you. Try out for a sport you play regularly, or pick something totally new.

Nominate now for your preferred sports so you don’t miss the trials. You can trial for more than one sport, just provide all your details on the online nomination form.

If you’d like to get involved but you’re not sure about playing sport, you can also consider applying for a team coach, team manager, photographer or media positions at the Eastern Uni Games.

Key dates:

Bathurst trials: 20 to 22 March
Wagga Wagga trials: 27-29 March (hockey trial is 23 March)
Eastern University Games: 2-6 July in Newcastle
