If you’re someone who hates the thought of having to buy food, cook it, and then clean up after, then here is a list of the best places in Albury-Wodonga that’ll do just that for you. However, being a uni student means you can’t afford to eat out too often. The following places will ensure you can still pay your bills and make rent, yet still deliver quality food.
Looking purely at price, the Thurgoona Country Club has you covered, with a $3 membership, what else could you ask for? The membership will get you lunch specials each day for $5 and dinner for $9.
If you’re anything like myself and love a good roast, but lack the time and motivation to cook, this place does the hard work for you for $10. The meals aren’t huge, but you’ll need room for dessert anyway.
The Newmarket Hotel fits the cheap theme with its ‘12 for twelve’ menu. There are 12 different types of meals for $12 with a huge range including fish, burgers, steak and much more.
This time you won’t need dessert – the meals are so big that you just won’t have room. The menu consists of all of your pub favourites, with parmys that completely cover your plate.
If you love eating pizza, pasta and garlic bread then you’re probably the majority of the population. Garlic bread is my personal favourite, it cheers me up even on the worst of days. For Italian food in Albury-Wodonga, you need to get to Bonetti’s. Here you’ll find delicious pizza and mouth-watering pasta.
For all sorts of different toppings on your pizza, Downtown Pizzeria is the place to go. The atmosphere is great, with a boutique feel and extravagant wallpaper. The pasta menu is endless, not to mention that the pizza is wood-fired.
If you’re living in Albury-Wodonga for uni or just passing through, these are the places I swear by. And if you’re living on a student budget and just not wanting to cook – these places will have you covered.
