If you’re a last-minute, disorganised uni student (like the rest of us) and you haven’t put any thought towards Christmas shopping yet, then here’s a guide for you. Avoid heading down-town without knowing what you’re looking for and instead, make a list to figure out exactly where you need to go. This will save you hours of traffic jams and waiting in ques.
Firstly, your go-to gift when last minute shopping would have to be a voucher or gift card. Nowadays, you’ll find a gift card for almost anything and you can buy them at the supermarket and post office. The only thing you need to do is choose which store or service you’ll gift.
Books
If you’re friends and family love to read, buy them a good book. Do some digging to find their favourite author, and if you can’t find a new book then ask the shop assistant for something in a similar style. They’ll give you their favourite picks. A bookstore gift voucher will give them free reign if you’re really stuck too..
Stationery
2017 is closing in on us fast and this brings a new year of study and work, so everyone needs stationery for a brand new year. For the perfect gift for your uni friends, pick up a voucher from Officeworks or Kikki K. You can’t go wrong with fresh and funky notebooks and pens for the year to come.
Food
That’s right, supermarkets have gift cards too. And who doesn’t need extra cash to put towards groceries? Pick up a Coles or Woolies voucher from you’re local supermarket (there really is a voucher for everything).
Electronics
Nothing beats electronics and technology vouchers. Head to JB Hi-Fi, or purchase an iTunes voucher for the music lovers. Netflix continue to impress, as you can now purchase a voucher for that too.
Retail
I don’t think there’s many women who don’t love retail therapy. Head down to your shopping centre and check out the homewares, clothing, jewellery, or sporting shops. For your Dad, think of his favourite hobbies. If he’s a keen fisherman, then grab a voucher to the fishing and outdoors shop.
E-Vouchers
If you can’t get to a store to pick up a hard copy voucher, jump online. You’ll be surprised how many online shops send email vouchers. Christmas shopping from the comfort of your own home, what more could you ask for?
Home-made vouchers
If your finances don’t allow for much spending, get crafty and make your very own I-U-O vouchers for things like a dinner made by you, a head massage, a cup of tea in bed every day for a week or something else personal you a can do for someone special. Make them personalised and the effort and thought won’t go un-appreciated.
