Did you know there are a range of opportunities for you to be involved in university governance? You can apply now to be an Academic Student Representative on one of Charles Sturt University’s committees, faculties or school boards.

There are several positions vacant for undergraduates and postgraduates who are interested in applying. This is your chance to not only have a voice in decision making at the university, but to also improve your employability by listing a representative position on your resume. Don’t miss out on a wonderful opportunity!

Expectations of Student Representatives

  • Contribute to the student learning experience by suggesting ideas, solutions and improvements
  • Represent student needs and raise issues of concern
  • Gather opinions and views of students and provide student focused feedback
  • Attend meetings of the committee or board that you are a member of. This involves being prepared for these meetings by reading agendas, submitting agenda items and contributing in the meeting discussions
  • Participate in professional development and training

  • Assess and evaluate minutes and agendas
  • Understand the formal meeting process
