Our Port Macquarie Campus will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday 12 November.
This closure is to ensure the safety of all our staff and students during the ongoing bushfire emergency, with extreme conditions predicted.
Students who are still living on campus at Port Macquarie are in the safest possible place, surrounded by incredible firefighters who are staying in our student accommodation. In the true spirit of our regional communities, Charles Sturt students and staff have been giving up their time to help provide meals, snacks and drinks for the firefighters, who are working tirelessly against the fires.
Support for students
If you need assistance, our student counsellors have free appointments available this week. There are telephone and Skype appointments available, and limited face-to-face appointments. Find out more via the Student Portal:

Your safety needs to be your top priority right now. If the bushfire crisis is having an impact on your ability to complete assessments and exams, you can also apply for special consideration:

The bushfires are also slowing down the postal service. If you’re an online student waiting on items from the library, they may take a little longer than usual. If you have outstanding items and are having trouble returning them on time, contact the library to chat about getting your overdue charges reviewed: https://library.csu.edu.au/contacts-help
Stay safe
Most importantly, you need to stay safe. Keep up-to-date with what’s happening via the Rural Fire Service, local news, and register for CSU Safe to receive text message updates about what’s happening on campus. Register for updates here: https://www.csu.edu.au/contacts/campus-alerts
Further information about whether the campus will re-open on Wednesday will be available tomorrow.
