Tickets are currently on sale for The Student Heart Project’s 2019 Red & Blue Ball at Panthers Port Macquarie on September 20.
Launched this year, The Student Heart Project was created by Charles Sturt University Paramedic students in Port Macquarie and raises valuable funds for defibrillators in the community with the aim to make Port Macquarie and surrounding areas more heart safe.
The project is entirely student-driven, along with the ball, which is being put together by 17 first, second and third-year paramedic students.
The Student Heart Project secretary Isabella Harrison said that the ball is also about raising awareness for the importance of having defibrillators in the community in case of a sudden cardiac arrest.
The Red and Blue Ball is the major fundraiser for the project, with attendees due to enjoy a two-course dinner, music from band Dirty Coverz. A variety of prizes are up for grabs, including, a silent auction, raffle, a photo booth and more.
Along with the upcoming Ball, they will acquire the community’s 16th defibrillator thanks to local businesses.
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start with tickets available for $60 available through the Charles Sturt University’s online shop or by calling Isabella Harrison on 0413 623 159.
