Want to get some new skills in an area not covered in your degree? Not sure your budget or schedule will stretch to enrolling in an extra qualification? We have the solution!
CSU has thousands of student licences to Lynda.com, an online learning platform packed with videos that cover hundreds of topics!
So, why should you try it out?
The options are (almost) endless!
Lynda.com offers more than 5,000 short, online courses. You can “Become a Graphic Designer”, master the art of “Social media marketing: Facebook and Twitter”, create a new music hit, or build business skills. Why not check out all the options?
Learn when it suits you
All the videos are available online, so you can up-skill in your own time. Passionate industry experts teach the courses, and all you have to do is decide which course or skill you want to learn, then sit back on the couch and watch! You’re not locked into attending a class at a particular time, and you can watch the videos at your own pace. Some only go for a couple of minutes, or you can work your way through a series of videos on related topics.
Get new skills
Sometimes there are skills you think would be handy in your chosen career, but they’re not directly related and aren’t covered in your course. For example, you could be a photography or graphic design student who could benefit from some business skills to start your own company. Maybe you’re studying marketing, but would benefit from knowing more about design or social media to make your messages stand out. Lynda.com can help! You can also find Lynda.com courses on more general skills, like leadership, teamwork or time management.
