Charles Sturt University is pleased to partner with the Australian Government to promote Stay Smart Online Week (10-14 October) and we’re asking you to be smart when it comes to sharing information online.
You can help protect yourself wherever you are by developing good online security habits and being on the lookout for online threats.
Easy things you can do to help keep yourself safe online include:
- Using strong security questions and passwords. Think back – do you remember setting up a CSU security question? If you can’t remember, check and make sure it is something that only you know, and
- Being on the lookout for anything that looks suspicious. Follow your hunch and take a closer look at things if you aren’t sure – for example: hover over a link to show the URL it’s going to take you to or do a web search on an organisation to make sure they are who they say they are.

Remember it only takes one simple mistake to put yourself at risk so be alert and aware!
