A Christmas Miracle

On Thursday 16 July, the Combined Residence Association (CRA) of CSU’s Bathurst campus held one of their most anticipated events of the year, ‘Christmas in July’. The event was held at Rafters Bar and showcased local talents BBQBAZ, Pseiko, Han Yolo and Sushi Burger DJ’s and encouraged everyone to rug up in their daggiest winter jumpers!

All profits from the event were donated directly to ‘Trekking4Nepal’, an initiative started by two Bathurst university students to support the Nepalese after the devastating earthquakes earlier this year. For every life lost, Trekking4Nepal aims to trek 1km and raise $10 for each victim.

The most exciting part of the night though, real snow!!!!

Who knew that on a cold winter night, students would be walking home from Rafter’s bar in their own magical winter wonderland! Snow like this rarely happens in Bathurst and it was clear that everyone was super excited to enjoy the snow with snowmen, snow angels and even a good old fashioned snow ball fight taking place! Please note: snow HURTS.

Who knows when this weather phenomenon will happen again, but until then we should thank the CRA for putting on an amazing night, Trekking4Nepal for supporting those in need and of course the weather gods for making all our Christmas dreams come true.

Merry Christmas in July!
