2015 Eastern Uni Games set to please! #playunigames

The 2015 Eastern University Games are coming to Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga!

The official launch of the location of the games was held on Friday 13 March at the CSU Wagga campus, featuring a promotional video, speeches and ‘come and try’ sport demonstrations to get everyone pumped for the games.

The 2015 Eastern University Games is a four-day, multisport event for tertiary students from New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. The event will run from Sunday 5 July- Thursday 9 July. With 16 sports on offer, the event is expected to attract more than 3,000 competitors.

The Games promote and increase student participation in competitive sport activities, while building character and leadership skills resulting in a healthy balance of sport and education for participants in the event.

As well as keeping university students healthy and fit, the games act as one of the biggest social events of the year – with themed nights every night and social awards handed out.

As the largest university sporting event to be held in Wagga Wagga this year, the 2015 Eastern University Games will also serve as a huge tourism boost for the Wagga community and showcase the CSU Wagga campus.

Charles Sturt University last hosted the Eastern University Games in 2009 at its Bathurst campus, where they were the overall champion.

CSU students are being encouraged to be part of the event by representing the uni in a sport (individual or team) or by becoming a volunteer. Further information about how to become involved is available on the University Games page.
