Ways to connect at uni this session

As we prepare for a new year of uni, it’s important to remember that lectures and assessments are not the only important aspect of uni. Being social is also super important. Whether you are studying online or on campus, there are plenty of ways to meet people!

Facebook groups

There are many different Facebook groups that help students to connect. As a starting point, follow pages such as Charles Sturt Students and join groups like Charles Sturt Social. These groups have students studying in all modes from all over the world.

There are also other Facebook groups that are faculty specific. They offer students in the same course another opportunity to connect, ask questions and help each other out. Check out your suggested Facebook groups in your Student Portal.

Classes and study groups

One of the easiest way to meet people whether online or on campus is through your course. It’s a great idea to connect and chat to people in your classes. It’ll benefit you socially and academically. You might even be able to form a study group with some of the friends you make in your classes.

Clubs

Another way to meet like-minded people is to join a club! All Charles Sturt uni campuses and online platforms have a variety of clubs and societies. There’s something for everyone. Whether it is a sporting, academic, social, or a cultural club, we have it all!

Student representation

Student Representative Committees (SRCs) are run by groups of students who provide support, feedback and advocacy for the student community. Why not contact your SRC to get involved, meet some new people and make a positive difference?

On-campus living

Living on campus is also a key way to meet new people. Not only will you be living with people you may have never met before, but you will also have the opportunity to immerse yourself in your dorm/block and residence culture.
